Life Update
Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Hey friends! Just wanted to share with you what I have been up to these days!
I married the love of my life, Matt, on December 29th and I am now living in North Louisiana. I left my dear South Texas - my piccadilly raspas and hot cheetos with cheese - to live in the land of gumbo and king cake!
Our wedding was in South Texas. It was an intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. We dimmed the lights and filled the venue with candles. Oh, it was so romantic! Can’t wait to share pictures! The day after our wedding we began our drive to our home in North Louisiana.
So what have I been up to…
I am so grateful to be taking some time off to settle into my new home and get acquainted with the town. Back in South Texas, I worked as a middle school art teacher for 8 years. Although I miss being active and some of the challenges that come with teaching, it has been SO great to rest! I have enjoyed creating new routines, decorating my new home, cooking my mom’s enchilada recipe, and learning how to use a dishwasher. ( I grew up in a Mexican home…todo se hace a mano.)
I have also appreciated having time to write again and share my testimony through this blog. Back in South Texas I led a christian organization for young women called Crowns. With an incredible team of young women behind it, we created conferences to encourage and propel young women to live out their God-given purpose. I started this organization about seven years ago and I am so grateful that the team continues to run with the vision. I say all this because my heart continues desiring to encourage young women, specifically those in their single season. I got married at 35. I understand all the feels that come with waiting for a godly man.
So for the next couple of days I will be here - in my new coffee spot, typing away and asking the Lord for the words to write to you; words that will lift you, remind you of your value, and encourage you to choose joy in EVERY season. You are who someone is praying for.
Cheering you on, girlfriend!
